1906 HouseThis is the earliest form of mill house construction. These homes were originally built as a 3-room house with a front porch and back porch. The ample porch spans over the front windows.

1906 College Street HouseThe 1908 Sanborn Map shows 7 houses of this floorplan lining the southern flank of what is now College Street (formerly Templeton Avenue). These houses are still standing today. Other houses were found from the 400 block (the corner of College St) and southward on Church Street. Only 3 such houses still stand on the 400 block of Church Street. As the mill expanded, the rest were moved or torn down.

Three room cottages flank the mill on Brawley Avenue, East Mills Avenue, Summer Street and College Street, reflecting their status as the housing that was built first, and therefore closest, to the worksite.
