In the first half of the century, the Mooresville Cotton Mills built a successful industry and a self-sustaining village with its own stores, churches, music band, and athletic teams. The mill hung on during the Great Depression and grew into a hugely successful industry by the end of World War II. Click here to view a slideshow of the Mill in the first half of the century.
